Pre-approval for visa?
Yes — better to carry full disclosure doc (loan terms, rate, APR, tenure). You should have received it during application or on email.
Signed agreement needed?
If you mean disclosure → yes, that’s fine. Final signed agreement is not always mandatory at visa stage.
1 year vs 2 year funds?
US lenders usually approve 1 year at a time — totally normal. Visa officer mainly expects 1 year liquid funding + sanction and some clarity on year 2 plan (own funds / reapply etc).
Earlier many students did this and got visas, but things keep changing — better cross-check once with visa consultant also.
Quorum processing/disbursement?
No major issues generally. After signing, loan goes to school for certification, they confirm amount (net of scholarship), then disbursement schedule is shared.

Hi,
I have received a pre-approval letter from Quorum for a 2-year MBA program at Cornell. As the next step, I understand that I need to submit the visa and I-94 form to finalize and sign the loan agreement.
If anyone has gone through the Quorum student loan process, I would appreciate your guidance on a few questions:
- Can the pre-approval letter from Quorum be used for the visa interview?
- Is a signed loan agreement required at the time of the visa application?
- Do we need to show funds for both years of the program, or is showing funds for one year sufficient for the visa?
- Have there been any issues with Quorum’s loan processing or disbursement? Would it be better to consider Prodigy, given its seemingly simpler process?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Ravi
