App went complete on the 22nd and I was really hoping to hear yesterday (14 days after). But all quiet on the Western Front! Its tetering at the point where hope is souring into despair.

I submitted a few hours before the round 1 deadline. My application went complete on the 16th … no invite yet …
I am really surprised that so far the interview rate based on the Gmatclub stats is way lower than last year (currently at 41.5% vs. over 75% for last year) … really hoping that they will drop a sh** load of interviews on the last few days ;-)
Good luck to everyone!

75% was for the whole year. R1 interview % actually hovered around 50%, R2 was a staggering 90%!

Well my recommender decided to wait until about five seconds before the final deadline and my app went complete on Oct 25, so I reckon I could be on for the honour of last possible R1 ding on Wednesday! It's encouraging that there are so many late completers out there that haven't heard anything yet, and better that my status still reads complete and not denied. But going back over my essays...well, they suck!

So I'm just looking at my R1 apps as a possible bonus now and really polishing my R2 essays.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Just got the email asking to interview. Strange they are releasing invites on a Saturday morning.

Now time to prepare and hope it does not turn in to the debacle of last year

Percentage of R1 applicants that received interviews last year was 84%. (42 of 50).
Of course these numbers are biased since we are all more inclined to show off when we get an invite rather than a ding. However, the same bias should continue year over year and it’s crazy that so far only ~40% have received an interview invite. I’m still waiting for the mother load of interviews to come on Monday. Hopefully this year the interview rate will shoot up to 90% for the Gmatclubers ;-)

Turbo2008 - sorry can you explain your numbers? I'm new posting here and don't follow you.

What do you mean 42 out of 50 R1 applicants interviewed? Aren't there thousands of applicants?

Indeed, thousands do apply. He means of the 50 people on Gmatclub.com who said they applied last year, 42 of them said they got an interview. It's not a terribly meaningful figure for a number of reasons - (1) people sometimes lie (2) people tend to report good news and tend not to report bad news (no one wants to the be the one person who didnt get in) and (3) people on gmatclub tend to be a poor representation of the overall population (we have a very disproportionate number of people with 650+ gmat scores)

Oh, now I'm with you. Well it's an interesting statistic but I agree maybe not so robust! Anyway I dunno if many people apply to Booth with less than 650 on the gmat.

I got an interview with 650 - keep hope. GMAT isn't everything.

What happened last year?

I interviewed with an international student and let's just say we never got on the same page. The first question I was asked was what I do for fun and I responded that I am a Cubs season ticket holder and spend most of my summer at Wrigley. Response: What are the Cubs? From there I knew I was screwed.
