Had my interview today. Interviewer was an Alum. Very conversational.
...
13) Few hypothetical situations like what if Duke waitlists me and xyz school accepts me
...

And what did you answer? In fact, it's very interesting for me. I just trying to imagine what I would answer to this question.

I self initiated my interview as well and while it felt good to interview, it also drastically increased the time frame until you hear anything from Fuqua quite a bit.....

I'm in the same boat as you, ThomasD! The days are going INCREDIBLY slowly. I really hope decision releases are before Thanksgiving, but I think they'll be around the Monday or Tuesday after.

Any guesses on when EA applicants will hear back?

Looks like last year they found out on 11/20 and applications were due 10/6. Does anybody know when do the EA interviews end?

The adcom mail which I received mentioned that the interview needs to be completed by 11/17.

If you work in reverse, they found out 4 days before the decision release date, which would put us at 11/29/10.
If you work forward, they found out 45 days after application due date, which would put us at 11/14/10!

They're not going to be working over Thanksgiving, so it's either the day before Thanksgiving or sometime the week after.

Hey everyone,

I just completed my interview today!

    Questions:
  • Walk me through your resume.
  • Why MBA?
  • Why Now?
  • What do you know about Fuqua? (even though i knew it, I mispronounced 'Fuqua', but I think the interviewer enjoyed correcting me.. even gave me pointers on how to remember the right pronunciation.. so I guess no harm)
  • Why Duke? ( I forgot to mention the faculty although I had a fanboy list of profs.. the interviewer informed me that most candidates over look the faculty even though they are #1)
  • Goals?
  • What personal dev are you looking for in a BSchool?
  • Regrets?
  • Failures..individual, as a team, that of a team member and what I did etc..
  • What others think your strength is?
  • Team success story
  • What are you most proud of?
  • Which team mate in all your experiences was the best and why?
  • How have you and how will you handle miscommunication in a team?
  • (actually at lest a dozen team oriented questions.. cant remember them all)
  • How are you different from 200+ candidates shortlisted from our country? (I hope the interviewer just made that figure up coz if that is the case I am very very nervous)
  • How will you contribute?
  • (Many more questions that I cant remember)

    The interviewer talked about:
  • Type of people Fuqua attracts, "team fuqua", etc..
  • Mentioned that international students have a tough time finding marketing jobs due to work permit problems etc.. so most try for consulting and banking jobs- makes competition among intentional students very crazy
  • Insight into internship process
  • About Blue Devils

Overall:
Interview lasted 1hr
+ Got a compliment about how focused I was about my goals
- I was not very clear and went in circles for a few of the teamwork oriented questions

Wow, you finished posting this before I did. I have the EXACT same issue. I talked with their office of admissions a few minutes ago and was told to contact their processing department. I was given an email for further contact and just finished writing said email. It really frustrated me to no end, seeing the same thing. I am absolutely 100% positive that everything is complete, just as yours appears to be. My application screen shows exactly the same thing. I am hoping this is a glitch in their system. I also hope this doesn't delay our applications.

I hope this provides some help. I had the same issue, called the office, and left a message. I have not received a return call yet, but when I logged back out of the system and then logged back in, my status updated to read completed on 11/9/2010.

Try logging in and out...see what it does for you. I can't imagine they would hold a computer glitch against everyone.

Ah, the same thing happened to me as well. Let's commiserate our situation by singing blues.

Yup, this worked. I logged out, shut down all my browser windows (just in case as this CAN be an issue with their old system), and logged back in. My status now reads as complete. Strange thing, but it seems to be ok now.

I don't really see enough detail there to tell. I can see that you have a GMAT that is in the 80% range, but it isn't exactly too high, though neither is mine. Also, I don't know what quality your work experience is, the 'prestige' value that everyone seems to prattle on about, so it's hard to say. Another problem might be that you are an international applicant applying to Duke. My understanding is that Duke has a very competitive international application pool with some pretty impressive applications. I read this on a number of sites as well as a post from a current student. Still, no reason you shouldn't try as you are still in the 80% window, assuming you don't have other hurdles to overcome like poor recommendations or a low GPA.
