I submitted the morning of Jan 3rd (the day before the deadline). I personally gave up on speculating on how schools send out invites. From everything I've observed so far, it appears quite random for most schools.

Pkit
I guess that the closer to the deadline the application was sumbitted, verified (and receive status "complete") the later the application was reviewed and respectively the later the invitations are sent.

This may correlate.
You guys who have received the invitations when did you submit your application?

It means you are in the same boat as thousands of other people. No need to panic until the 18th. Then we can all go nuts.

I dont think I can wait that long to go nuts. Going nuts already... My girl threatened to desert me if I dont shut up about MBA invites, my friends dont want to hang out with me because all I talk about are MBA invites, my parents who would hear from me once a month are getting tired of me calling them everyday to give them updates about MBA invites and my shrink, who I started seeing just a few weeks ago, is about the only person who wants to listen from me about MBA invites. Nevermind that he's robbing me silly. So... for heaven's sake, cant the powers that be send a W invite my way so that I can have a life again without bankrupting myself. Just sayin...

what is the general opinion about on-site adcom interview vs alumni interview (within US).. I logged into the system today to look into interview scheduling system for the first time. For on-site it does seem to have many dates till early march. For alum intvws, online scheduling systems asks to "use search carefully" as it will only give names of 4 alumni total.

i am assuming there is no criteria one can use to prefer one alumni name over other to interview with (all supposed to be strangers anyway). why suggest 4 when 1 would do, no?

Folks,

I'm a bit confused here. I saw some discussion regarding interview invites for Round 2 being released only on two dates Feb 4 and 18th. However, the email we received after application submission states categorically,

"The Admissions Committee will begin to release interview invitations on Friday, February 4th and will continue to release invitations on a daily basis until 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, February 18th. Due to the nature and complexity associated with the admissions process there is no particular order in which invitations are released."

Now the above statement from the admissions office leads me to believe the interviews would be on a rolling basis between Feb 4 - Feb 18 (notice the use of the word daily). If you have other information for your perspectives, please do enlighten me.

Btw, I am in for Round 2! Good Luck everyone :)

Oh man, we've had this discussion a million times..
Look, we're all speculating here. Come monday, everything will get sorted out.. If applicants get interview invites then it's on a rolling basis. If not then we should hear from the school only on the 18th.

Simple.

Ha! This is true. I've started sending them email updates about when I think I might hear something. Fortunately, they are still feigning interest.

But you're wrong if you think its going to stop once you get the interview invite!

It's a conspiracy I tell ya... to give us all heart disease by the age of 32.

You could not echo my views more - I wish I could go hibernate to end of feb and wake up with interview invites/dings and no confusion!

Look guys. This matter is not a mystery. As I said a million times, the adcom woman herself said that interviews only go out on 2/4 and 2/18. So for those of us who did not get invites on 2/4, let's just relax, enjoy life, and wait until 2/18.

Peace out and have fun watching the Super Bowl.

I know Arb said he has unequivocally confirmed with Adocms on the 50/50 invites. In any case, we started a discussion on W's official S2S blog and a current student will confirm this with adcom's today (in writing ).

Like many, I did not receive an invite. Good luck to all.

Just got back from Wharton's Winter Welcome Weekend and caught up on all the blog posts since Friday...

Congrats to everyone who got interviews on Friday and to those who didn't...it really is random between the two days. I didn't get mine until the second wave went out for round 1. Anyway, I'm super pumped now to go back to school and good luck with the interview process....oh, and i recommend doing it on campus for those who can get to Philly without flying half way around the world...

Well, a few reasons. First, I think all things being equal, it paints a slightly better picture of your commitment to the process/Wharton. Second (and probably more importantly), you can take a tour, walk around, sit in on a class, etc. before your interview which will get you excited about the school and most likely make you perform better. Third, excuse to take a day off from work...
