South American lurker here.... I got invited in early january (a week before hub interviews) I guess because some people accepted other offers and cancelled theirs (I didnt want to share the story before so i couldn't be identified, but I wanted to let R2 applicants that dont get the invitation for a few weeks that there is hope).

Does anybody knows how does the accepted/ding email/call works? Im leaving the city for a few days and wont have internet access, a friend was gonna check for me, but looking though last years posts it seems like they dont send an email in th emorning but rather call people throughout the day! anyone knows how it really works?

thanks a lot!

In looking at last year's thread, it looks like the interviewer will call you sometime between Saturday and Monday if you're admitted. If you're not admitted, you'll get an email at the end of the working day on Monday (around 5ish Eastern Time).

that's too bad because my phone doesn't work were im going! jejej but I guess I'll find out eventually! thanks for the reply, and to everyone who has contributed to the forum. Best of luck to everyone!

MIT does interviews a bit differently. They send out their admissions staffers to several major cities around the world and interview all the candidates there over a few days. They do not use alumni. Also, the interviewer will have read your application. They expect you to go to these "hub" cities for the interview, but I think if you're reasonably inaccessible, they'll do it over the phone.

I was told by a friend (current Sloanie) that they've asked students to do a "phonathon" on Monday and Tuesday. I guess your interviewer calls you first and then current students encourage you to go after. I am hoping that since students start calling Monday, that the admissions people would start calling today until early Monday as opposed to waiting to the end of Monday.

This wait is driving me crazy.

Exactly, I interviewed in South America so they offered me the option of interviewing in Brasil, Argentina or Chile.

Interesting insight. I thought the lunch with students during interview day was supposed to take care of the encouragement piece. Do you know if these calls are targeted to all admits or just for applicants that might have interviewed in hub cities and/or over the phone?

Hello All,

Can anyone tell me if Sloan requires summer prep courses to be taken for admits who never studied business? And if so, when do these courses start? I am asking this question for different schools...

Also, I'm wondering what would be the last date possible for R2 interviews??

Thanks

Hey bud, stupid is relative... we're all obsessing over this, haha.

Good luck to R1'ers -- I hope to see a lot of action on this thread over the weekend.

So if current students are calling Monday/Tuesday, are the accepted students getting calls from admissions today and tomorrow?
