Hi,
I am an applicant who did his graduation in India in 1996. My problem is that although I have all the original transcripts and the degree with me, I am wondering how I could send my original transcripts with my applications (since I have only one copy).

I am not sure I can get more original copies of my transcripts from my university and the business schools specifically state that they would not accept photo-copies. Also since I am in Singapore, I am not sure if I can find some notary to certify the photo copies based on the originals.

Would appreciate any advice in this regard.

I don't know which university you're referring to, but most schools make it pretty easy to request transcripts since they know that many of their alumni will apply to graduate school. Call your school or check its web site to find out the details. Most schools are very efficient at processing transcript requests.

Thanks for the reply. But that doesn't help.

Regarding the details of the institution, it is Bhopal University in India. I checked out the web site and also called them up. It seems I may need to personally come down to their offices to get a copy of the transcripts, and that too will be given if I give an undertaking that I lost my original certificates.

It doesn't seem feasible for me to go to my college just to get one copy of the transcripts (and that too after lying that I lost the same). What would I do for the 2nd and 3rd and 4th colleges...?? Besides since I passed out some 8 years back, I don't even have friends around there to help me out...

I was wondering how other applicants from India or other countries with similar problems handle this... coz. this is a common practice in India.. to give the transcripts out only once...

Would be very aprreciative if somone in the diverse GMATCLUB community has any answers for me..

Hi,
I know a couple of frnds in Bhopal who got their transcripts. Which place in Bhopal did you graduate from?

A couple of days back - I got my transcripts form a NIT (Former REC) and let me tell you that the process was very simple.

I dont think that the avaibility of transcripts is that difficult. Buddy - i am sure you have not called the correct person. Every university in India is required to provide transcripts.

And if they dont then ask them to send you a mail stating the same. You can then forward that mail to the admissions office. THough this should be the last resort..and I have my doubts that you cannot get your transcripts.
