chiefinance If you got full funding in top 30 US school (and you think it's financially better to avoid Canada for MBA), I would say go for it BUT apply for Canadian PR as soon as you arrive in the US, and start applying for jobs in Canada as well. Getting funded MBA from US and job/PR in Canada won't be that bad. BUT don't hope/plan on getting US green card or starting a business in the US as that will NEVER happen - remember 100 year green card wait for Indians in the US

Oh wow who are these AILA folks gona read more about them.
But all these boils down to the American citizen first, if the changes will help folks there why not ( makes perfect sense).
Americans much love okay ;)

Staphyk American politicians get high on the best out there, you need to get into US senate for that. There's a guy named Dick Durbin, who is in Senate since 1996, he regularly gives speeches about immigration about how much he cares about us, but when it came to passing an immigration bill, he blocked it single handedly. Why, you ask? He was paid around 2M in campaign contribution by AILA in 2018-19 (immigration lawyers association).

So yeah, I stick to my point, you are a talented immigrant, and have $100k lying in your bank account - better spend it in Canada, at-least they won't treat you like a 3rd class citizen.

But it’s positive news for incoming students who are waiting for a F1 visa. When the consulates open they won’t have H and L visas to process, decreasing the wait times for F visas. Also, the executive order will be limited to next 6 months I guess and won’t affect people who are already in US.

Right. That's a fair point. What concerns me at this moment is if there would be an extension on the suspension and if it would impact the "hiring internationals" sentiment in the longer run. The MBA unlike the MS is not a specialised field of study and continues to predominantly have domestic students, would the order then deter companies(post the order lapses) to go through the hassle of sponsoring internationals when a significant pool of domestic students is readily available?

I've always believed that the sentiment carried more credence over the what the rules permitted or did not. With all of these developments and a reported 50x hike in H1B processing fee, I'm worried if organisations would even want to give sponsorship a thought and thus reduce hiring of internationals drastically from 2021.

bb / guys presently in the US, would love to know your thoughts on this!

I think his EO has no impact on international students and workers who are already in US. It may be more favorable for international students with master's degree to get a H visa now. I see his stance favoring the international student community moving forward. We have to wait and watch.

Today, I received this message on whatsapp from my colleague. I don't know how international students are going to apply to USA colleges without VISA or how are colleges reacting. For sure I know what is Sundar Pichai's reaction to proclamation:D

Because F1s to H1s are still permitted and graduates who are aspiring for a H1 will face lesser competition this year. STEM OPTs are also unaffected.

How do you think the current pool of students graduating in 2020 would benefit more in the current situation without the EO?

Hi ammuseeru,
For an international student to be eligible to study, F1 visa is required which isn't affected by the EO. This is majorly affecting the people who were supposed to enter US via their firms (Internal transfer) or other firm recruiting the candidate directly.
