Hi rever08,

To start, is that 650/Q47 that's listed in your profile an Official GMAT Score? If it is, then that's a solid performance - and it might be enough to get you into your first-choice Business School.

As you continue to study, you will likely find it beneficial to work on 'some Quant and some Verbal' each week (as opposed to the "all of one, then all of the other" that you're planning). You'll likely find it easier to retain everything overall if you're studying a mix of subjects each week.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) When was the last time you took a FULL-LENGTH CAT? How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Yes that's my last official score. Not satisfied with the score and hence a re-attempt.

Yes, that's the plan. But I am practising either quant heavy week or verbal heavy week. I do study the other part, somewhat like 3:1.
Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
Dedicatedly a month now (2hrs a day on an average)
2) What study materials have you used so far?
OG, Gmat club, Egmat
3) When was the last time you took a FULL-LENGTH CAT? How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
20 days back. Prep GMAT 1 - scored 690 (Q50 V33)
Goals:
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
This year
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
ISB, IIM A, Kelley Indiana University

Hi all,

My scores in the recently taken CATs are:

July 18, 2018: GMAT CLUB -------> Q46
July 15, 2018: GMAT CLUB -------> Q47
July 11, 2018: GMAT CLUB -------> Q43
July 1, 2018: OFFICIAL GMAT -----> Q50
Kaplan ------> Q49
Manhattan ----> Q47

I need a Q 49-50 to reach my target score. How comparable are GMAT Club's mocks to exact GMAT? Also, how tough is it to reach Q 50?
A Q50 is 85% (percentile). That's one way of looking at it.

If you weren't familiar with the questions you got on your GMATPrep Q50 test, you should be capable of getting a Q50 on the actual exam. The important thing here is to build up a series of such scores. That's always better and more predictive of final exam performance than a lone high score.

Q50/51 isn't an easy score to achieve, but if you can score around Q47 consistently, then you can score Q50 on a good day.

Hi rever08,

Some of your earlier posts in the forums are from 11 months ago, so I have to assume that you've put in some significant study time that extends beyond the last month. Those prior studies are relevant, especially if you got 'stuck' at particular score level during your prior studies and/or you're retaking CATs now that you already took at some point in the past (and are coming across 'repeat' questions that you already know the answers to).

1) On what date did you take the Official GMAT?
2) How were you scoring on your CATs up to that point in your studies?
3) What 'brands' of CATs have you used during your entire study timeline?

Dedicatedly a month now. Please focus on "dedicatedly"

Those prior studies are relevant, especially if you got 'stuck' at particular score level during your prior studies and/or you're retaking CATs now that you already took at some point in the past (and are coming across 'repeat' questions that you already know the answers to).

I believe I have got one -max two repeat questions that too in the GMAT CLUB Mocks

1) On what date did you take the Official GMAT?

20th November. Was devastated by the score and the plan suddenly took back seat.
2) How were you scoring on your CATs up to that point in your studies?
The first official GMAT mock I wrote, I scored exactly the same score as in my official GMAT. I chose to attempt Quant first (still can't understand why :suspect ). I was confident of a 700 (800 Score Mocks 690, 680, 700, 720, 720)
3) What 'brands' of CATs have you used during your entire study timeline?
800 Score Mocks and Official GMAT Mocks 2
