Decreasing in option E is used as a modifier right?

Clause + Comma + Verb-ing is used to -

a. either presents additional information about the preceding clause,
b. or presents the result of the preceding clause.

Hence, correct Answer must be (E)

(A) and decreased -what decreased refers to is not clear, hence incorrect

(B) and it decreased- ambigious pronoun it

(C) and it decreases- -pronoun error

(D) and decreases -incorrect-illogical meaning

(E) decreasing-correcty describes previous clause
