Hello Guys
I am in a unique situation and at my wits end. Would appreciate advice and Chanakya-Niti type strategies from the Gurus amongst you.
MY PROFILE: Indian
Education:
- XII from a top CBSE school (80%+ in all years)
- Did 2 IT programming diplomas (3 years total). Not a proper Bachelor's degree
- Currently about to complete Zend PhP Certification
- Recent GMAT: 620
- Recent IELTS Academic: 8.5
Work-Ex:
Worked as a Marketing Manager for an MNC (2 years)
Worked as a Branch head (2 years) for an Indian IT giant
Started my own IT company, created an overseas customer base and am still the CEO (13 years)
TARGET:
- To grow my business management skills and apply them beyond an SME scenario.
- Experience the work environment outside India.
PLAN:
- Do MBA from abroad and work outside India for a couple of years atleast
- If possible, during that 3-year period retain valuable existing clients by outsourcing projects to other Indian IT companies
SITUATION:
A) UK
On the strength of my vast experience and business achievements (also perhaps GMAT, IELTS, Diplomas, Interview), I have offers/admits from 2 UK B-Schools ranked in the World-top-100 by FT, Economist and Guardian.
Since the PSW Visa has just been canceled, the only way to apply the skills enhanced by MBA in an international work environment, is to complete the MBA and then apply for PR / Job in Canada/USA.
B) Canada & USA
The 5 Canadian B-Schools in World-top-100 and a couple of USA ones, have informed me that since I have more than 15 years work experience, I can only apply for eMBA. However, no Visa is available for this because it is a part-time program.
There are 3-4 B-Schools in Canada that are not very highly ranked who may accept me for MBA.
QUERIES:
1. Now that UK PSW has been canceled, does it make sense to still do an MBA from a good B-school in UK and then try for a job in Canada or USA? Or maybe apply for a Canadian PR as soon as I reach UK?
2. Does an MBA from a School ranked in top 100 in UK brighten my chance of a good job in Canada or USA?
3. Or is it better to do MBA from a mid-level Canadian B-School and compete for a great job with people passing out from well ranked Canadian universities?
4. Should I be looking at other destinations like Norway, Ireland, Belgium?
5. Am I going crazy and looking at the wrong end of the horse?
All suggestions and brainstorms are welcome.
- Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this long post. More thanks for replying though.
