Hi Guys!
I would really appreciate if you could give me some pointers on my application process. I hope to apply for Fall'06. As I have sometime in my hand, I could be able to "repackage" different aspects of my application.
Age: 28
Nationality: Bangladesh
GPA: Undergraduate (3.54, top 10%); Graduate (3.56, top 5%)
Major: Finance
GMAT: 690 (Q48, V36)
Work Experience:
From 2000 - now: working as a Director in our family's Stock Brokerage Business
From 2003 - now: Simultaneously worked as a Full-time Faculty member in one of the nation's top business schools
I am about to take a serious decision now. I always planned to do pursue a PhD degree in Finance. I think my CGPA and GMAT is not enough to get into any of the top 20 B-School PhD programs in the US. I have got some research experience as well as some consultancy experience in both financial and non-financial sectors. Would it be able to offset my shortcomings in GPA and GMAT?
I am little apprehensive about my PhD Prospects. Recently, I have begun to think seriously about an MBA. But I have already have a 1-year MBA. If I decide to pursue, would the previous MBA go against me? Would my research experience be useful in applying for MBA?
I know it has become a lengthy, boring post. But I would really appreciate if anyone could give me some advice.
