Hi Paul,
I am what you can typically call a "MALE INDIAN IT" box candidate. My details are as follows -
Age - 31
Total IT Exp = 9 years
GMAT score = 730
Graduation = 78% (topper) from one of India's good colleges.
During college and even during my job I have been actively involved in various extra curricular activities. I was the head of dramatic and cultural society in my college, was a quiz champion and have continued with the same activities in my job also (Inter company quiz etc). I have organized quite a few college fests and drama competitions and also written and directed a few short skits and street plays.
My job experience has been in telecom sector where I am currently working in a project for the largest telecom company in the world. I have extensive overseas experience in europe and USA. For the last 4 years I have been in Belgium at the customer site. I have in the past managed a few small projects (4 to 6 people) and currently I am managing a team of 9 people . My major responsibility is the product architecture development.
Now what I am aiming for is a 1 year EMBA course either in 1 of the top 3 Indian coleges (IIMs or ISB) or a european course. (INSEAD or IMD) . US colleges are not an option coz I have not yet made up my mind for a 2 year course (as I have a family and my wife doesnt have a job).I would like to know my chances and what are the things I should highlight in my essays ? (My reason for MBA is that I am interested in changing my field. I would like to shift to either finance or Infrastructure development kind of profile).
