MartyKaan - 740 is a fantastic score and I personally see no reason to retake just to improve the AWA score; please remember that the AWA score is never a make or break criteria for the b-school admission decision.

That said, no one but you should decide whether you want to take the test again. Please do not blindly rely on the opinions of others. We have a well-structured in-house guide that can help you make a decision. Therefore, please take a few moments to review the GMAT Club Retake plan: Retaking GMAT Strategies!

Thanks for your advice!

Although I know that I could score more than 740, I am satisfied with the score. The problem is that I am not sure of the real importance of the AWA score and if the low score I obtained will damage my future application. As I would like to apply to the top business schools and I have 2 to 3 years before doing it, I would like to be sure that my GMAT is something positive in my application and not somethig that will damage my application because I have a lot of time to improve the score.

Thank you again!

MartyKaan, there is no 'right' answer here since there isn't really a magic/minimum GMAT number.

While the AWA may not be a deal breaker, it looks like there is money left on the table. Higher is always better and if you can, given that you also have time, might be worth it.

And btw, make sure you work on all elements to build the profile well.
