Guys,
I've been admitted to NYU Stern and ISB for their MBA programs. No financial aid from either place. Which is a better school to choose? What would you do if you were me?
I need to make up my mind in 5 days.
I intend to work in consulting after my MBA. I will have 8.5 years work ex before I join my MBA. I'm from India.
Some of the determining factors are:
1. H1B Visa in the USA. Is there a high chance that I will get a work permit in the USA? Will companies send me to other countries in case I don't get a USA visa? The political climate in the USA is uncertain now.
2. Stern is a very expensive school and it will cost me ₹13 million. With a good job it should be possible to repay this in 5 years maybe?
3. How good a brand name is Stern? Worth risking it all and going to the USA?
Feel free to chip in with your thoughts. Thank you all.

right now you are in a great cross road. let me tell my opinion.
ISB India : Number one in India, very intense program sometime you go mad. No need to worry about placements, definitely you will land in a good job. There is a list of Bschool every big company HR will have. in that list college will be categorized, salary will be depend on that. ISB is in first category in all company list. so what pay you can expect after MBA at ISB ?? up to my knowledge 18 L avg. you have to think whether it is high or low for you. while calculating keep in mind the debt you will have. And one good thing about ISB though the cost is high , you can get loan without any collateral , so if you are in any financial setback prefer ISB.
NYU : Pros , highly reputed college in newyork as well as US. Most people will land job in IB, and all finance related job. entering into consulting is also good. The overall MBA experience will be better in NYU than in ISB
Cons: you will be a great debt by the time you complete the course. Though there is numerous opportunities in newyork , living in newyork sucks. if you manage to enter into consulting, there is good chance you can shift your job to other countries incase you didnt get visa. except consulting it is very tough to shift country.
other factors:you told you have 8.5 years of experience, so considering you an Indian , you should have got married already or soon you have to , NYU is 2 year program , so probably you will go to job only in 2020 Jan. ISB gives you a great advantage here.
