Hi All,
I am a Telecom engineer working in Bangalore,INDIA.I have an experience of five years and now plan to do mba in 2016-18 session.I gave my gmat and got 730 and now I am researching on different schools.Post mba I want to move to management consulting where I will work for around 5-6 yrs in different industries and will finally return to India and open my start-up.

I am really confused about school selection. For safe schools I have zeroed on following schools.I will apply in two of the following four schools.Can someone give some insight on these schools or any other school yo can recommend which I may have left.
Maryland (Smith)
University of Texas--Dallas
Boston University
Boston College (Carroll)

Hi Suryav,

You have a decent profile. Your work experience and GMAT Score is really good to get you admitted in B-Schools you have mentioned above. Since your GMAT Score is really good, I would suggest you to target high ranked B-Schools which are good into consulting like Columbia University, MIT Sloan, University of Chicago Booth, Kellogg, Yale University, Duke Fuqua and Michigan Ross etc.

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your background. I like the way you’re approaching your application by breaking down your target schools by risk. This is something we’ve done many times for our clients. To do this right, we really like to get a closer look at our clients’ background so that we can truly understand their goals and align them properly to their target schools. Unfortunately, forums don’t really lend themselves to that.

However, based on what you’ve shared, I can say that your GMAT is on the high end of the schools you listed. Pending your GPA, you could be a good fit, but as I’m sure you’re aware, there is A LOT more that goes into your candidacy than your academic profile.
