I chose E because of POE and felt that process really did not fit in the scheme of things. I now agree option E is also a bit goofy as it didnt show much impact, BUT it did show the impact of how this poem led to many explorations. So technically it is an impact leading to discoveries. Option E thus fits better IMO unless the process part is removed from D.
Kindly look into it
bb BunuelThe passage traces a shift:
- Historians doubted Homer’s geography.
- Archaeologists used the poems to search for sites.
- Discoveries increased the poems’ historical credibility.
That is a process of poetic descriptions becoming more historically reliable.
Why not (E)?
The passage is not about the poems’ broad historical impact (cultural influence, legacy, etc.). Exploration is mentioned only to show how credibility changed, not as the main focus.
So the primary concern is the process of increasing reliability, not impact.
That being said a process might be slightly confusing for students, "Describing the development by which" or "Tracing a shift by which" makes more sense here.
