I graduated from UC Berkeley with a high GPA. I have obtained good work experience in the past 4.5 years, but my Undergraduate work was in the humanities. I am planning to take a math course to increase my chances of gaining admissions to a top 5 MBA program. Would schools value a quant class taken on Coursera, or should I take a quant class from a traditional institution?

I think a course from a traditional institution will add more value. However, some of the Coursera courses are taught by the best professors in the best universities. I'd advise you to check out the Coursera certificate programs and compare the course content as well as the level of difficulty with the traditional courses and then decide.

The closer the course is to what you would expect in an MBA program the better it will be viewed by admissions, so keep this logic in mind as you select which option makes sense for you. If this is your concern I would recommend going the route of the traditional classroom learning experience here
