I just want to share my experience with Veritas Practice Tests and compare Veritas Practice Tests with GMAC's Official Practice Tests. I first took the GMAT last 2019-Mar-08. I decided to take the GMAT again before my personal application deadline (2019-Apr-30). My strategy was to simply take as many practice tests as possible within the remaining time period. I took practice tests from GMAC and Veritas from 2019-Mar-23 to 2019-Apr-15. I took the GMAT again on 2019-Apr-16. Below is the summary of my actual score and my practice test scores. I only considered the practice tests that I took after my 1st GMAT attempt.
ACTUAL GMAT SCOREOverall: 720
Verbal: 41
Quant: 47
GMAC OFFICIAL PRACTICE TESTSOverall: 690-710 (ave = 698)
Verbal: 37-38 (ave = 37.5)
Quant: 47-49 (ave = 48.0)
Sample: four exams
VERITAS PRACTICE TESTSOverall: 670-740 (ave = 697)
Verbal: 36-41 (ave = 37.3)
Quant: 46-50 (ave = 48.3)
Sample: seven exams
As you can see, my average scores from Veritas are practically the same with my average scores from GMAC. In addition, score ranges from Veritas are wider than those from GMAC. Although I only considered the last four GMAC Official Practice Tests that I took before my 2nd GMAT exam, this observation on ranges is still true even if I consider the first two Official Practice Tests that I took prior to my 1st GMAT exam. I also attached here a detailed tally of my practice test scores.
At first, I was hesitant to take these practice tests from Veritas because of older bad reviews. However, I did some research and found out that they consulted a former GMAC psychometrician and that they are offering a free question bank to further calibrate their algorithm. I think it is a good idea to combine Veritas Practice Tests with GMAC's so you can have more samples and, therefore, more confidence in your predicted score (in terms of both average and range).
