Hello!
I recently scored a 770 on the GMAT (6 IR, 47Q, 51V) and am shooting pretty high on my schools this coming Round 1. However, I'm also coming from a very, very non-traditional, musical background which has some clear pluses and minuses. While a 770 is a good cumulative score, being that my background is what it is do I need to try and bring my 47 up a bit, or should that be okay?

Though you have a phenomenal overall score, some schools prefer a more balanced percentile in each section too, say 75%. A 47 in Q would be close to 65% in my understanding. Check the website of the specific school to see if they have mentioned something around that.
A retake is not really warranted and will depend on what schools you are applying to and your overall profile- work ex, career goals etc.
