Hi Everyone,
I'm reaching out to see if someone can help me assess my overall profile and give me some advice. I don't know if this is an appropriate post for here but here it goes!
Questions:1) How does my profile stack up considering the schools I'm targeting?
2) I hear a lot about how "its about the whole profile", but what does that mean and how much of that is true?
3) Is retaking the GMAT basically mandatory in my case?
Target Program:- MBA - Entrepreneurship - I am targeting schools with great entrepreneurial resources and as of now do not have plans to look outside the target schools based on that criteria.
Target Schools:- HBS
- Kellogg
- Booth
- Wharton
- Sloan
About Me:- Undergrad School: University of Cincinnati
- Undergrad Degree: Aerospace Engineering
- GPA: 3.6
- Certifications: Systems Engineering
- Certification School: MIT (Online Certification Program)
- Age: 28
- Ethnicity: White
Work Experience:- Boeing - Aerospace Engineer - 3.5 years - Started at Level 1 and quickly promoted to Level 2
- Boutique Firm - Management Consultant - 1.5 years - Started as an Analyst and quickly promoted to Associate
GMAT (scores in reverse chronological order)- 710 - 48Q 39V - taken 7/17/2020
- 700 - 45Q 40V - taken 6/30/2020
- 670 - 48Q 35V - taken in 2017
- 650 - 46Q 34V - taken in 2017
Extracurriculars:- I won't list them all but focused on K-12 outreach in STEM. Anything from volunteer participant to high school mentor. Nothing stellar but still a decent amount of community service work.
There are so many posts out there of some stellar people and I am at the point where I am feeling a little uncertain about my odds. I am by no means looking for compliments here just some guidance from people who may know more than me about what admissions officers look for. As it stands, the only manageable portion of my profile is the GMAT - can't really change employers and extracurriculars now - but I have been at that for a while. I would love to be able to switch to self-reflection and writing essays or even getting back into volunteering, but am obviously struggling to know when to walk away from the test.
Questions (again):1) How does my profile stack up considering the schools I'm targeting?
2) I hear a lot about how "its about the whole profile", but what does that mean and how much of that is true?
3) Is retaking the GMAT basically mandatory in my case?
Thanks all,
James
