GPA on international transcript.

Question

Hello friends,

I went to a college from abroad and we used 100-scale. My GPA is 83/100, which is okay.

We also had a certificate from college that reports a GPA in 4.0-scale, and my GPA is 3.6/4.0.

However, the school also has a 5.0-scale system, and interestingly, my GPA is 3.3/5.0. (Lower than 4.0-scale)

I will upload my transcripts, with a 5.0-scale explanation, and the 4.0-scale GPA certificate.

However, even with the explanation of our weird 5.0 system, I am afraid the 3.3/5.0 will put me at disadvantage. Any mitigation?

For any other GPA scales that are different from the 4.0 scale, some B-schools may request you to use a third party to evaluate it, such as WES. 
You should address this problem via email to B-schools

From what I understand the b-schools have their own way to evaluate the GPA for different schools and regions. So as long as you upload your full transcripts and give your GPA one of the GPA system that you have, the schools will convert the GPA to their own system even if the one you entered is not acceptable to the school. you can also speak with most B-school admission teams if you have any doubt.

You can find here https://www.aringo.com/gpa-conversions/ some GPA conversions tables that will help you convert your GPA, but some schools ask you to report your GPA in its original scale, and they will figure out how it compares with US GPA. If you think your GPA is too low, try to compensate for it in other areas of your application, like your GMAT score.
