After about a year and a half of studying, and 5 GMAT attempts, I finally managed to get the 700 score that I desparately needed this past Saturday. Unfortunately, there are just over 2 weeks left before some schools' round 2 deadlines. All my energy was devoted to studying, especially during this last go around, so I have not had a chance to work on essays nor have I even asked for letters of recommendation at work. (I am still not certain how my potential recommendors will react to me leaving work to get an MBA, so I didn't want to let them know until I had the 700 in the bank.)
I am planning on applying to about 5-7 programs. If I were to start cranking out these essays, (like literally today,) would these two weeks be sufficient to ensure that they are in top shape? Would my recommendors have enough time to put together something meaningful? Would it be worth it to risk applying in the dreaded round 3? I really don't think I can wait another year (until next year's round 1,) so it looks like I'm faced with either hurrying to meet the round 2 deadlines or rolling the dice in round 3.
Any thoughts?
