Hi Stacy,
I recently just took the GMAT for a second time and improved my quant score (my main goal) but I did worse on verbal and scored 10 points lower overall. I previously scored Q44 (68%) V40 (89%) 690 (88%) and this time around scored Q47 (76%) V 37 (81%) and 680 (85%). I am planning on applying to Columbia, NYU and Wharton in Round 1 with a concentration in Finance. I read recently online that when completing the application, you are only asked to report your highest score. Since I am applying to top schools with a quant heavy focus, would it be more advantageous of me to report the 680 score which is more balanced (both subsections and overall score above 75%) or to report the highest overall score which is weak in quant? I realize that eventually they will receive the official report with both scores, but I am unsure at what point in the process this will occur. My profile is as follows:
26 y/o Male
3 years Big 4 accounting firm in their M&A diligence group
Top 30 State School undergrad, Accounting and Finance Double Major, Overall GPA: 3.7 Finance GPA: 3.9
Decent extra curricular activities/volunteer work
I would be interested in speaking with you further regarding preparing applications.
