Hello!
I am a 24 year old female hoping to apply to b-schools in the near future (Primarily looking at Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Columbia, Yale, Cornell, Michigan, Chicago, Northwestern and the likes). Since graduating from college, I realized I enjoy strategy-based work - especially after contrasting the work in my day job versus some of the work I have done for my own ventures. I enjoy solving problems and making an impact. Based on my conversations with others in the field, I think consulting is a good fit for me going forward.
I graduated with a 3.46 gpa in finance from a top undergraduate b-school. GMAT = 730. Currently, I work in Corporate Banking. I have been recognized as a top analyst and am heavily involved around the firm. I'll have about two years of experience during the time of application.
Outside of work, I like to keep busy with the limited extra time I have. I started a global non-profit with a team based in 7 different countries. My organization has achieved significant recognition in various publications around the world. In addition, I am co-founding a unique tech application - although there is much work left to do in this project.
Random facts: I have previously worked for and been published in a global magazine as a freelance writer. I recently authored a book on understanding non-profits from a business perspective. I used to be editor-in-chief of my B-school's publication.
Any thoughts on how I can improve my candidacy and other schools I should look into? Is my GPA a large concern? What else can I improve?

You have a very enviable profile and as a female, you will automatically have an advantage in the process. While it's true some schools (particularly the ivy league) like to see 3.75 GPAs, they will consider the fact you went to a top school and trust me, a 3.5 GPA is great and will not be disparaged. Hopefully you have some A's in your quant-based coursework and I am sure your major GPA was probably even higher. But I am grasping at straws here, since your GPA is not a true area of concern for me. Clearly you have good writing skills, so make sure you communicate clearly and concisely and don't make the mistake of other good writers I have seen by over-communicating. Sometimes good writers will endulge themselves and end up showing off a bit too much--being too flowery or overly descriptive can sometimes take the reader off track. I am sure you know this already. We do have one-off essay editing services if you ever want a second set of eyes. Might be a good idea considering your target list, where lots of applicants use professional consulting in various ways. The only thing I would say at first blush about "improving" your profile is more tied to things you didn't mention, such as making sure you tie your career acheivements specifically into your post MBA vision for consulting. Having a thread or theme which demonstrates intentionality in your decision making and career choices will help you appear mature beyond your years. You are a bit younger than the average applicant so this will be important. The good news is, lots of the top schools like bringing in young applicants, and at the end of the day, you will be given "credit" for all your work experience up until matricuation, so make sure you have a good plan for how you will use the next 12 months, and not just how you used the time up until the application.
