Hello friends !!
I have just completed five years experience in the field of electricity production. I just wants to know whether a general management would help me to enhance my career opportunities in the energy sector or B school do offer any specialization in the energy field. i have came to know that there are few energy clubs inside the B school . Are they really helpful to get valuable inputs .
there are few blogs which states that for the growth in energy sector Rice or UT is quite good. Is it true or the school at east coast provide equal opportunites.
I am very confused . Kindly help me

McCombs has an advantage of being in a geography where energy sector is quite big. So if you graduate from McCombs, the chances that you will be able to find a job in energy sector are higher than any comparable regional school in other geographies.
However, many large energy companies hire from all top business schools. So if you get into a top ranked business school, you can still be in good shape to meet your post MBA career aspirations.

There are couple of B-Schools that are more focused towards energy sector like -UT Austin (McCombs), Michigan Broad, Rice University, ASU Carey and University of Boston.
And agree with the above post that many large energy companies hire from top Business Schools. So, its very much likely that if you get admission in top business school you have fair chances of getting into top energy company.
