I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to help me.
I want to start my MBA in the summer of 2016, and will be applying to business schools in R1 - 2015.
I have given GMAT ones (April 2015) and am wondering if I should give GMAT again (within the next 45 days) or should I apply with my current score.
Please help me identify the business Schools which i can target with my current profile and whether i should give GMAT again.
Profile:
Gender - Female
Age - 27
Nationality - Indian
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering
Year of Graduation: 2009 (Graduated with First Class, 60.86%, from University of Pune)
[Did not find any standardized grading formula]
Work Experience:
Duration - Jan 2010 to Present (5 years)
Domain - Information Security
Profile - Lead Auditor and implementer
Industry experience - Consulting, Manufacturing, IT, Government
After completing college I was offered employment with Mahindra SSG (Risk consulting), as Information Security Analyst, where I have worked on projects with varied clients. I traveled across India and within 12 months lead my first onsite implementation project and lead a team of 3 people.
Post Mahindra SSG I was placed with an growing IT firm, Persistent Systems, and got an opportunity to work with clients not only in India but abroad as well. I was given responsibilities for managing key projects in the team. I was promoted to Lead Information Security Analyst, and had 3-4 people team to lead:
1. Acting as the link between the manager and the team.
2. Managing and delegating projects (implemented in offices across the globe) and tasks.
3. Vendor management for projects.
4. Generating reports for management or clients.
5. Preparing project plans.
6. Managing client and third party audits.
Currently I am working for the Ministry of Defence.
GMAT Score:
First Attempt - 08 April 2015 - Total: 610 V:29 Q:44 AWA: 4.5
Post MBA Goals:
1. Work in the capacity of Chief Information Officer and then move to operations.
2. Launch my own business [eventually]

Hi there,
You seem to have good work experience including international exposure. You can use that to built strong resume and essays. However, your current GMAT score makes it difficult for you to aim for high-ranked schools. It also drastically reduces your chances of getting a scholarship.
Since you have a few months to R1, I'd advise you to retake GMAT- but with good preparation. Your verbal seems to be needing more attention so do more practice, take coaching- whatever it takes to improve your score.
Re: school selection, start by answering these questions and your school list will build itself.
- where do you want to study and work after MBA? US, EU, Asia, India?
- your GMAT score- how does it compares to the average for the school. yours should be higher than average for a school to be competitive.
- how old are you? how much work. exp. you got?
- have you connected with any schools students and built rapport?
- what (if any) specialization you want to pursue?
- do you have the freedom and resources to reapply if you can't get in this year? - you can try to aim for high-ranking schools in first attempt
- what is your financial situation? would you need scholarship? student loans?
Your post-MBA goals need more clarity and specificity. Doing more research on post-MBA roles will help you present a credible career path.
