Hi there,
I am a 3rd year Mpharm undergrad on a 4 year course in the UK. I plan to do the MBA in a few years time and I needed some guidance on what is the best way to go about it. My main concern is what is the right pre MBA work experience for someone who is a pharmacist and wants to work in pharma companies in project management.
My stats
1. Undergrad- 2.1 or a 1st in Mpharm( going to graduate in 2016)
2.GMAT- in the process of preparing
3.
Work experience- This is what I hope to be my work experience path pre MBA
-- 1 year as Pre registration Pharmacist after graduation ( In a hospital or a community pharmacy)
-- Further 1 -3 years working as a Pharmacist leading a team of staff in a branch of a community Pharmacy ( skills include leadership, management of a team, problem solving and coming with new ideas as to how to increase revenues for the store)
This is something I wanted to confirm that whether this sort of W.E is suitable or do I need to look for further options such as grad schemes in companies unrelated to Pharma to increase my management/commercial/HR knowledge.
4. Some programmes I have looked at as a potential are Wharton, MIT, LBS/ Stanford
I do realise that this may be a bit early for me, but it would help me greatly if I do have the right information before i set on the path of an MBA as it is a lifelong investment I need to think very carefully about. Any help would be appreciated!
Kind Regards
