Employment: 5 years at a brand strategy consulting firm. Promoted twice. Currently manage teams of 2-4 and responsible for full project delivery of projects ranging from 200k to 1.5M (~3M annually)

Significant Accomplishment: Working on the very first project our company did with a client who has now become our biggest (in terms of revenue) across the firm globally.

Volunteer Activities/Hobbies/Interests: 2006 – 2011: Part of a NYC-based theater company. I performed as the lead role in an (eventual) off-Broadway musical. I played the lead role during the show’s whole creative process leading to the off-Broadway run — workshops in NYC and Tennessee for industry execs.

Undergraduate University: NYU Stern School of Business

Degree / Major: Marketing & Statistics

GPA: 3.7/4.0 – Was admitted into the ”Stern Scholars” program

Traveled to: London, Greece, Italy, Japan, Brazil, Croatia, Spain, Switzerland, Mexico, Iceland

Lived in: London

Studied in: London

Worked in: London (1 year); have conducted business/workshops in Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, Zurich, Sao Paolo, and Madrid

Dear Ronjon,

Consider the following points:
 
  There are several awesome points in the profile. The consulting work and accomplishments you've mentioned sound pretty exciting. It will be interesting to know the name of your firm though as its a bit tough to digest that for a 'brand' firm, you can develop a client that suddenly becomes their biggest revenue generator. 
  The Theater experience will bring oodles of brownie points for you. This also because there is a direct relation between such efforts and your professional communication skills. Make sure you do the connect between the two well.  
  Your undergrad GPA and pedigree is great. Precisely because of that, the GMAT, also considering your aggressive school list, will be a bit of a dampener. The consulting crowd tends to be pretty heavy on the test and to make sure no handicaps, will be worth evaluating a re-take. 
  You have not mentioned your post-MBA goals. Back to consulting?

There is a LOT of stuff in your profile that knocks our socks off. The off-Broadway thing is a serious feather in your cap! You have all these great things going for your academically, professionally, and involvement-wise, that your GMAT is..."eh". It's the one thing still within your control and applying to Harvard and Wharton - you don't want any weaknesses if you can help it. Any chance you could retake the test? You still have time and you have a strong 700 foundation to build from?

The theater extracurric is cool and different. You have some international experience as well which is nice.

A lot is going to hinge on where you're actually working I think. If it's a well known player in the brand strategy consulting space that will be better for you than if it is a one-off boutique firm. You'll need to resit the GMAT though. If you got a 700 on your first attempt I wouldn't be surprised to see you naturally increase your score on your second sitting.

Stanford - I don't see an X factor in your profile that would naturally lead me to suggest you apply there.
Wharton - will not look at less than a 710 GMAT https://fxmbaconsulting.com/wharton-mba- ... 2016-2018/
Harvard - definitely a reach school contingent on a 720+ GMAT
