Hello,
-27 year old male
-1st generation Iraqi-American (family escaped Baghdad when I was 4. Grew up in poverty
-670 GMAT (42 Q, 40 V, 6.0 ALA)
-2.8 GPA from UC-Berkeley (major upward trend since Freshman year was awful)
-Played division one baseball at Berkeley for 3 years
-Drafted by MLB twice (once out of high school and once after Junior year in College)
-Graduated from law school with honors
-Passed California Bar Exam
- WE: been working for 8 months as a legal consultant (temporary contract) with Genentech as part of an acquisition of another Biotech company. So by the time I would start the MBA program it would be about 2 years WE. Hoping that division one baseball during undergrad and being a lawyer may compensate a bit for the lack of "technical" full time WE.
As you can see, I have an interesting background and I am hoping that might be enough to give me a shot at some reach schools. My big reaches are MIT, Yale, Virginia Cornell, NYU, and CMU. I also want to apply to Georgia Tech, Emory, and Vanderbilt. Any suggestions on any other programs where I may have a decent shot are appreciated as well. Thank you so much!
