I am a 32 year old Indian male working in a top 3 Software company in the US as an Engineer.
I'd like to move into product strategy/ product development roles within Tech, and I believe an MBA at this point would really open up new opportunities for me in the technology space. I'm not too keen on moving away from the technology space.
Two things that concern me most are my age (being >30) and the fact that I've not been in any formal leadership roles so far. I've led quite a few projects, although these have not been formal leadership positions.
I prefer going for a shorter program. Therefore LBS, INSEAD and Oxford and high up on my list.
I'm also considering part time at Haas, although this is a longer program, since it's in the Valley. Being in the Valley would open up a lot of opportunities in the tech space.
GMAT: In practice tests, I consistently range b/w 680-720. I'm hoping to somehow cross over the 700 barrier in the real test
Undergrad in Electrical Engineering (GPA: 3.6). Masters from a top 3 US school ( GPA 3.84)
W/E: 8 years in Analyst/Engineering roles. I've worked in quite a few areas from Consumer Electronics and eCommerce to the Internet of Things.
Extra Curricular: I was part of my school and college soccer teams, although I have to admit there isn't much else that'd go for me in that department.
