Hello,

I wrote my GMAT today. And got a score of 690 (Q49, V35, IR 7)

Target: 1 year MBA programs in Europe or Asia

I will apply for Jan intake in IE and INSEAD. May be one-two more not sure which.

My background:

Engineering from One of the best college in India in Pulp and paper (IIT Roorkee)

Work experience in Project management (~5 years) and process management (~2 years)

Total 7 years (6 years in Estonia)

Kindly advice me:
1. Which other schools to target for 1 year program?
2. Should i apply for R3-R4?
3. Is the score Good enough? I am thinking pack a good Application to cover for the score.

I had posted my detailed profile here : profile-evaluation-7-years-work-ex-6-years-in-europe-216750.html

Thank you for your profile post. You mention 3.2 GPA but what was your score out of 100?

I recommend applying this fall so you can target additional programs and have the best chance of getting in.

Consider IMD and potentially Oxford as well.

Your GPA is lower than average for an Indian male, especially from IIT so that is one thing that is working against you.

Send me an email to discuss your profile further. I help a lot of IIT graduates.

Best,
Scott

Hi Saurabh,

I would agree with my colleagues about the one-year programs and would also advice applying sooner than later.

Regarding the GMAT score: I have worked with several IITians applying to INSEAD and other schools on your list and I can say you don't have to worry about that too much :) EU schools mostly look at your overall profile. However, certain Asian schools such as NUS tend to expect you to cross 700.

I also read your detailed profile on the other thread and I think it would help you at this time to think about the unique aspects already part of your profile instead of starting a new volunteer activity close to the application deadline. The B-schools look at the quality and depth of involvement with what you do in life, rather than the number of activities.

Good luck!
