Hi, I am studying my final year of automotive engineering school(in Thailand) expecting to graduate with second class honour.
I am planning to work for 3 years before studying MBA.
I am deciding between engineering and banking industry. I also have background in business(MOOC and participate in several business case competitions).
Which job do you guys prefer if my goal is MIT, Stanford, and UCLA?
For engineering job, it will be Project Engineer in top companies like Bosch and Siemens. For banking industry, it will be top Thai bank.

Thanks for your time.

Hey there!!!
Good to hear from you!
Well, honestly, you can succeed in an MBA from any industry, and as this point it makes sense for you to choose a job you will a) like b) be good at and c) will offer you advancements opportunities (oh yeah, and there's also d) salary! :) ).

Best,
Jon
Just choose what makes them see that I am a talent and an expert. Am I right?

I would really suggest you select the path you feel most passionate about and would enjoy the most. B-school is not guaranteed so you don't want to plan every moment with this in mind. If you perform well in either role then you will be solid on the WE front and which path you choose will not impact you as much. The only other thing is the more aligned this initial step is with your planned LT goals the better it will play come application time.
