Hi,
I am pretty much clear why I need the MBA.
Short Term: It will help me look into newer territories to markt my products. (Make in Low Standard of Living areas and Sell in High Standard of Living Areas)
Long Term: I want to work and be involved in different businesses and be a stakeholder in their successes. Maybe run and operate a big conglomerate in future.
IMPORTANT CRITERIA FOR ME
1.Alumni Network-(since I can pitch my ideas and convince any of the VC/PE to see the cash cow there.)
2.Opportunity to Meet enterprising individuals to collaborate business ideas together
BACKGROUND OF MY BUSINESS
I have a 70 odd employee family business in multiple segments. I have been actively involved in it since my childhood. I have taken individual responsibility of one of the brands, cofounding it, and made it decently popular in few parts of my state and people know it in my city. I operate on a dealer distributor network offline and also sell online.
DILEMMA #1
How will I show proof of the Brand Image of my business to someone in U.S.A or Europe or U.K.
I have read the Top 15 US Schools would want to have Candidates coming from Brand Companies. Even though I have worked with Brand Companies as their Product Supplier and OEM Partner,buy I don't know how i can show my brand's value to the Ad Coms.
DILEMMA #2
My choice of Reference is my company's financial consultant and another client abroad with whom I have worked for the last 5 years. If I would have wanted, I could have asked a CATEGORY MANAGER of the Brand Companies to write my recommendation, but those guys have only seen me in 1 role whereas the referees I chose have seen me functioning in different roles.
Will I be sabotaging my own chance if I don't have a BRAND COMPANY's employee writing my recommendation?
DILEMMA #3
On the downside, my revenue figures aren't even close to the Multi-Million US dollars small and medium businesses but my brand is really popular. It got featured in regional newspapers etc etc Have generated employment in the poorest part of an area, giving jobs to unskilled people with very poor credentials and have even employed deaf and dumb and cognitively impaired people in my workforce.
What Revenue is good revenue to the Ad Coms and how would they even authenticate it?
LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST-
I am an Indian , from a non-engineering and non-IT Background, but I have Professional Degrees of Commerce(Law and Accounting)
and of course GMAT 680 and GPA no clue but definitely not the average these big schools want. But my professors and college dean can vouch for my academic ability since I was an outstanding student according to them. Also, I may have been in the top 15% ill of my graduating class.
Can anyone help me with the schools that should be reasonable with my vision?
