Hello Admission Consultant Community,
I was hoping to get some feedback on my profile and get a couple of questions answered.
Thanks for taking the time!
Overview:
White Male from the United States with a 3 GPA and 710 GMAT from a lower ranked top 10 university in 2013.
Double majored in Civil Engineering and Economics and then upon graduation pursued a career in Tech Sales at a well known fortune 100 Software company.
Have worked at the same company for the past 4 years.
Over the past 4 years have been in a closing role selling SAAS based software solutions to well known enterprise clients.
Managed a decent book of business and got 1 promotion after 3 years.
Points of Concern:
Not a lot of b school applicants seem to come from a b2b sales background, wondering how to position to a committee.
Sales Careers often do not have the normal progression path and delineation found in other career plans.
The title matters less than the deals that are brought in, i.e a seasoned professional and a college new hire are just categorized as sales reps in the industry.
Low GPA- Combination of being an engineer / not planning on doing grad school while being an undergrad
GMAT- Figure with the low GPA, I need a fairly stellar GMAT and I am planning on retaking
Any other red flags?
Really Thanks for all your help.
Best
