Hi -
Going to be honest because I would love to understand my chances of getting into a top 10. I have not taken the GMAT, I don't plan on taking it until late fall and applying next summer/fall of 2018. I'm aiming for a 700+ for a top 10. I plan to enroll in a class (Veritas Prep) so hoping that will guarantee a good score.
Gender: Female
Undergrad GPA: 2.7 graduated 2011
After undergrad I worked in consulting and took a year break for law school and ended up leaving law school due to low grades in 2013. Since then I'm back in consulting and have been working professionally.
I'm nervous about my chances of getting into a top 10 due to law school and to my GPA in undergrad. I'm not sure how much weight is going to be put on my past, so trying to gauge here.
I'm not active in community service though I have received promotions in my job and will likely receive another before I apply to business school. Thanks in advance!

Not Veritas, but a low GPA candidate myself. It is very unlikely that any top schools are interested. 2.7 ug is very low for top 10s, and a law school drop out because of grades is certainly not improving your case.

Thanks for sharing your profile. Your academic track record will make it tough for you to break in the top 10, particularly leaving law school from poor performance as admissions would see that as a fairly recent example of an inability to handle grad level coursework. Your GMAT will be very important here and you will need to score really high to try and mitigate your GPA
