I tend to agree - go to MBB to get into PE but a bank? Seems odd. Also, strive to get into the best possible school you can to get into MBB if that is in fact your aim. How have you determined that leading a bank would be fulfilling to you? What will you experience in that role that would make you happy? I wanted to shoot myself working for Wells Fargo post-MBA because my values are individual expression, authenticity, creativity and humor/playfulness. This is why I love my job now.
If you interested in shoring up your indicators for academic potential, I advise HBx core or the strategic management certificate via HBS. My GPA challenged candidates have found used these to develop an alt-transcript. If you are willing to wait, I would recommend doing one of these programs.
