Hi Experts,

I need guidance on my decision of MBA. Below are my profile stats:

Age: 34
Location : India
WE: 11 yrs
Current Company: Big4
Role: Manager in a Tech Consulting Role with focus on delivery, business development & pre-sales. Have managed engagements in Retail, Telecom, Stock Exchange, Consumer Goods & Utilities sector across Europe,UK & India.
Post-MBA Goals: Want to transition into a business/management consulting role

I plan to take GMAT in Dec.What should be my target score?

Please provide an evaluation on my profile and the target schools.Also, what are my chances of achieving post-MBA goals.

you are on the higher side of the WE/age range for a regular 2 year MBA program. Which country/ies do you plan to study in?

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I am certainly not looking for a 2-year regular program.My preference is 1-yr program in Europe/US/India.

What I understand is that it will be bit of a challenge to convince Ad-com on my pursuing MBA at this stage.I need help in setting a target GMAT score and B-schools that would help me secure an admission. Also based on your experience of previous clients, what are the chances of getting an admission for someone with higher work-ex.

Hi, You seem to have done well in your career, and your post-MBA goals seem reasonable as well. Some other considerations become important: which college did you study in, how does your promotion history compare with your peers, do you have any outstanding professional/leadership accomplishments, etc. Apart from this - based on your age, you might be a better (although on the younger side of the scale) for executive programs. You will be one of the older candidates in a regular MBA program. This can weigh against you.
