Hi Gopal,
Thank you for your note. With 10 years of work experience, you are really going to be above the range for FTMBAs in the U.S. The middle 80% of the student body at most full-time U.S. programs has 3-7 or 3-8 years of work experience, with the average hovering around five. There are a handful of students in MBA classes with 10ish years of experience, but those spots often go to applicants with unique backgrounds that explain why they are pursuing a FTMBA at that juncture of their career (e.g., someone who spent 10 years in the military).
So your circumstances lend themselves more toward part-time or executive MBAs. But you should keep in mind that if you're based in India, PTMBAs and EMBAs are almost always considered "part-time study" in the U.S., and as a result, they do not qualify you for a student visa. International students in PTMBA or EMBA programs need to be in the U.S. under a separate visa.
These are very important logistical matters to consider as you continue to evaluate your options. (Beyond that, if this is indeed something you want to pursue, then I recommend really trying to boost your GMAT score. A 570 GMAT will significantly limit your options. And the schools you'd have any chance at getting into with a 570 might not be worth the investment. That's up to you.)
Thanks,
Greg
