Apart from the info asked, this article should give you some broad pointers on which MBA specialization to pick up RahulMolagavalli85.

I looked at your resume. two things first:

1. your resume must tell of the impact you created, not the responsibilities you held. Once you mention the achievements, it will be clear to the reader about how competitive your profile is. Adcoms of every business school specifically ask for a resume that shows your achievements (quantifiable) and impact.

2. A second MBA is a possibility, but a solid reason for an MBA is must. That reason will emanate from your career goals. What is is that you want to do in your career? what large scale impact do you wish to create? Once you are able to pin-point your career goals, the need for an MBA, the MBA specialization (or no specialization at all) and which college will become more clearer.

FYI, b-schools generally have a question on career goals and why MBA from their b-schools. Typically they ask for short term and long term goals.

Hello anshkool4u,

You have a decent profile and your 710 GMAT score is good to apply for B-Schools mentioned. If your planning to apply to R1 deadlines this year you still have plenty of time to prepare for your GMAT but we suggest you retake your GMAT only if you believe to add 30-40 points to your current score. Adding 10-20 points would make no huge difference and you can rather invest this time and effort behind crafting impactful and well-tailored application.

Your work and extra curriculum look quite impressive, which make your profile right to fit into desired B schools. Don't forget to write about reaching UPSC interview twice and the reason for dropping it out when you go down to the application essay. The overall profile seems decent to apply for schools mentioned and other top B school, where you need to work a bit more on GMAT score if your planning for Yale and NYU. Maybe expertise help in crafting your application can increase your chances of getting a positive response from targeted schools.

A few more thoughts on your profile anshkool4u:
  1. It will be good to understand the actual nature of your undergrad - brand of college, any other activities, GPA. Those things do matter, especially as you get closer to the top programs out there.
  2. MBA after 30 is tricky. This is likely to make you a bit of an outlier to all your current target schools from their median 80% range. So think about how you'll convince the adcoms to make an exception in your case - develop a strong rationale for the timing.
  3. The work experience sounds ok. It will however be important to understand the details there too. Any achievements that differentiate you for instance - SBI is a HUGE employer; how do you stand out? What does managerial position mean? Have you transitioned from a tech into a non-tech/finance profile? etc etc.
  4. The GMAT score will definitely be below the Indian average - so if you think you can boost it, worth a shot.
  5. ECs can make for a nice overall story, so do pitch them well into a coherent arc.

Hope this helps some.

Cheers,
