Hey guys, This is Puneet. I am a Mechanical Engg. Graduate from NIT Kurukshetra, India. I have been accepted into two Business Schools: SDA Bocconi and Trinity (Dublin). I am confused into selecting one, although I have a few waited results from other Universities as well.
A. Background:
1. B. Tech in Mechanical Engg. with 8.17/10 Grades.
2. ~4 years XP in Project Management (Pipeline Projects, Execution and Planning)
B. Post MBA:
1. I want to work in Consulting, but I am open to explore others.
2. I am interested in working for Community Development, and I would like to build a firm around it after 10 years.
To back my Finances, I would have to lean on to Aids and Education Loans.
C. My observations of consideration:
1. SDA Bocconi has a much larger reputation than TCD's.
2. SDA Bocconi, being in Italy, has a Language Barrier (Given the Loan amt., I cannot afford to get back to India without a Job Offer).
3. TCD would do in 22k Euros as opposed to 59k in Italy.
4. TCD also claims to have 88-90% Placements
I know I am resilient and hard-working, but I know that I am a safe player also. That is where this dilemma arises.
Need your expert opinions and suggestions. I have to decide in a week. Please help.

Congratulations on the admits !
Do a trade-off in your mind with the following constraints :-
1. Your long-term goals. Does one institute equip you better to achieve your goals?
2. Your Short-term goals, aka Placements. Assess how the situation is likely to unfold when you graduate. You must assess the situation carefully since the current situation is not the most favorable to all. The shock may be big enough to make a tectonic shift in businesses. That said, there would be new opportunities emerging.
3. Upfront investment and quantum of debt in that. Take into account the costs of servicing debt when you graduate, and whether you have some funds to make you sustain should there be undesired surprises.
Do take an informed decision. And remember to be a calculative risk-taker.

Hey puneetb,
I would try and take a look at the employment reports for both schools to see where students are actually placing and in which locations, and base your decision on which outcomes best serve your goals. I'm assuming SDA would be taught in English? Are your plans post-grad to work in Europe or try and return to India?
