Hi. I just took the GMAT this past Friday and managed to get a 760 (a little luck + 20 practice tests) with perfect scores in IR and AWA. I would be 29 at the time of matriculation (applying for class of 2024) with 6 years of work experience. That experience is entirely back office, primarily as a corporate finance analyst at a telecom company. I went to a small liberal arts school (ranked 50-70 nationally) and graduated with a 3.4 in economics. I received several Cs in courses, most of those courses being math-oriented.
In addition to my work experience, I completed a non-credit diploma program in Python from a prominent university's professional studies school. This comprised four courses and was very quantitatively intense. I would label this program as an extra-curricular, also meant to assuage concerns that may arise from poor grades in college.
My questions are as follows:
Am I viable for any of the top b-schools? I like Duke, Tuck, Johnson, and Tepper among others. And how are each of them for consulting?
Will my background be a serious impediment to successful recruitment by MBB? I feel like a lot of it besides the GMAT does not align with what they may be looking for.
Thanks.
Also, I am a white male American citizen if that matters.
