I am Ashita, and would like to request you to please evaluate my profile for the MBA programs with an inclination towards VC and/or backgrounds?
Targeting R2.
1. Demographics - 26, Indian, Female
2. Educational Qualification:
- Under-Graduation: Bachelor of Commerce from Mumbai University- Mithibai College, Mumbai, India.
- CGPA: 3.5/5
3. GMAT: Pending (Target: 700+)
4. Work Experience: 3 years – India
- Financial due diligence at EnY:
○ Technology and Media sector.
○ EY is the Market leader in this space in the country.
○ Handled the biggest Pharma deal for 2018 (Novartis US generics division sale to Aurobindo Pharma), Sale of Mobiquity group to Hexaware, India's largets music library deal, startups for funding rounds. Experience in using big data analytics tools like alteryx and spotfire.
o Positions:
Senior Associate
Associate
- Deal team at Tier 1 Venture debt fund (Innoven Capital- Present job)
o Vertical: SaaS/ IT, Media, Agritech and Consumer/ Consumertech
o Position: Associate
- Exposure:
o Portfolio comprises of SaaS companies and Agritech companies.
o Deal origination, due diligence along with credit underwriting and portfolio management.
o Assists with building the firm’s early engagement with entrepreneurs and start-ups prior to venture funding.
o Looks at the Corporate Social Responsibility for the fund with active collaboration with Uniterway Delhi, Oscar Foundation, etc.
- Internship: Boston Consulting Group, India.
o Project FIBAC: Banking productivity survey.
o Created a detailed report on adoption of digital banking India
5. Extra-Curricular:
• Diploma in Buddhist teaching and practices (Basic and Advance from department of Philosophy - Mumbai University.)
• Vipassana Meditation
• Yoga
• Volunteered for a 6 month long semester with Saturday Art class
6. Interests and Hobbies:
- Jazz dancing
- Certified Scuba Diving
- Rock climbing
7. Post MBA Goals:
- Primary - Want to work in the VC space and gain global exposure
- Intermediate and Long-term – Progress into core leadership roles. Eventually, into the senior leadership and pivotal roles and bring back learning to India.
8. Target Schools: LBS, HBS, GSB, Insead, Kelloge, Wharton, Columbia
- Open to suggestions based on the current profile and desired career progression.
9. Questions-
a. Is my profile good enough to be considered for the targeted colleges?
b. Are these reasonable choices?
c. Can you suggest any other B-schools that are better suited for my career choices and profile?
d. What are the other areas of improvement? What are the major weaknesses in the profies

Thank you for sharing! Given your target school list, you will want to aim higher than a 700 on the GMAT, particularly for M7 schools like HBS and GSB.
Breaking 730 should be a good target since you are coming from a competitive applicant pool.
If your goal is to go into VC, you are going to need a broad set of finance and valuation skills, so I would focus on schools with strong finance programs. CBS and Wharton (on your list) are good options, as are Booth and NYU Stern, and Anderson.
