Hi all,
I got a Gmat score of 690 with IR score of 3.
I am planning to apply to MCGILL, Sauder, Schulich, John Molson.
Does the low IR score hamper my chances of getting admission in these canadian b schools?
I am a bit worried.
My background - Indian male engineer with 6.5 years of experience in IT

What did you get on Verbal and Quant specifically? If you got a high Q score with an IR score of 3, you may be okay. However, scoring low on both sets off a bit of a red flag.
How many times have you sat for the GMAT? As an Indian male in IT, you come from a competitive applicant pool. That said, differentiating yourself with a strong GMAT will be even more important. Thus, it could be worth taking the exam again to show a higher IR score. Plus, it would help to break into the 700s on the GMAT in general.
Of course I would want to know more about your specific role, leadership experiences, progression at work, extra-curriculars and GPA as well to give you more targeted feedback.

Thank you for sharing your profile. AdComs do not consider your IR scores separately but rather as part of your total GMAT score. However, you may be required to defend your low score in interviews. The next step is to contact your target schools and inquire about how they evaluate IR scores. You may also ask them directly if your low IR score is cause for concern and what you can do about it.
I would like to know more about your profile to give a realistic evaluation, as your selection is based on your overall profile—work experience, impact, leadership, etc. You may want to read an article on low GMAT success story to Rotman. Despite a low GMAT score of 670, she made it to Rotman.
