Thanks for reverting.

The deadline is R2 (05 Jan) and I am thinking of appearing on 7th Jan.

I thought of reporting a lower GMAT score (640) and if the GRE score is better (above their avg GRE), could it be seen as a persistent effort to do an MBA sort of story.

I mean am open to changing the test date. You can advise me what should be done ideally.

Are you sure these schools are allowing you to take the exam after the deadline and still have it count for R2? That seems very suspicious. If you have not already, I would confirm this ASAP. Common understanding is that the exam must be taken no later than the date of the deadline for it to count in that round.

If you find out that's not the case, you must move up the test date to no later than the 5th.

Keep us posted,

Great! Will surely ask them.

Seems like if I have to seek an extension (in test submission) then I would have to submit my lower score for now and intimate them about the attempt. All the schools have an option of intimating a prospective test date.

Thanks a ton, Admissionado for the prompt reply.

That's great to hear. I think you have no choice but to submit the GMAT now and then the GRE. If you don't do as well on the GRE you'll be screwed by not having a GMAT score submitted unless they allow you to submit your GMAT after the deadline despite having taken it first and ahead of the regular deadline.

The whole thing is a little messy but good news is that the schools seem willing to work with you and will count your highest (relative) score as it's best for them and you. So, in some respects, you have little to no risk by submitting the GMAT, taking the GRE and then submitting the GRE. Keep the schools in the mix so any accommodations are pre-screened.

Above all, good luck!

Thanks a lot Admissionado!

Also if I have given multiple attempts at GMAT, should I report all of them when I am self-reproting or just the highest one?

It depends on the policies of the school's admissions committee. Generally speaking, only your best score is needed. Even if the school says "send all" they will always count your highest. They understand that many people take the exam more than once and it's in everyone's best interest if they count the best of your attempts. You won't be penalized for the lower scores.

Good luck,
Admissionado
