Hi,
Request your help to evaluate my profile and understand which universities would be safe for me to apply to based on the same.
Demographic:
Indian, Female, 31
Education:
Bachelor of Commerce 3.6 GPA
I'm concerned as it is not a well known college
Work Experience:
Led operations for my family's early education school [2 years], offshore auditing of hedge funds and PE funds [1 year], IT risk consultant at a Big4 having Fortune 500 companies as clients in India and Investment bank clients while seconded to London [2.5 years total], Founding team member for a social enterprise based out of NY (remote) where I led teams for Community Engagement (1 year), BD & Partnerships (6 months) & Recruitment (6 months) [2 years total], running my own recruitment agency [5 months].
As it is broad range of functions in different industries I am a little concerned here.
GMAT:
700 (mock test)
Extracurricular activities:
Mentored girls from an orphanage for 2 years, volunteer work running life-skills coaching for children, certified diving enthusiast, certified yoga teacher
Post MBA Goals:
Work with growth stage start-ups in their HR/People Ops vertical and help build strong culture from the ground up, aiming to become CHRO in 4-6 years from finishing MBA
Target Schools
Specifically Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management as they have a 1 year program or any other M7.
Would appreciate any other school options you would recommend. Ideally I would prefer a shorter course within the US. I am open to EMBA as well

- The academic arc is unclear. While non-pedigree school will be a handicap, the GPA looks good. However, is that a converted one? If yes, don't do that as schools don't expect you to. On the GMAT front, push harder - one can usually add 20-30 points to a given school's average to get a sense of the Indian GMAT average. When is your GMAT planned?
- The professional profile looks highly eclectic indeed. You will have to weave a compelling, clear narrative to ensure it is something that adds to the profile and the relatively frequent changes don't come across as flippant. The post-MBA plan will need to be thought through as well. HR roles are few and far between from top bschools globally and it could come across as hiring risk.
- The ECs and volunteer efforts sound alright; not sure how recent and continuous those are.
- Here are some more one year programs in the US that you can target. If open for Europe, your international experience can be useful there. You can also check the Stanford MSx. EMBAs are usually limited in terms of career impact and finding jobs so tread with caution there.

You have worked in various industries; if you have a valid reason for doing so, job-hopping should not be an issue. It would also be great if you could mention this as a strength in your post-MBA goals (by making them more specific and inspired by previous experiences). Regarding your Ecs, if you intend to continue the work you have mentioned, you will need to work on portraying your vibrant personality on paper so that adcoms know you outside of work. You are a trained yoga instructor, therefore you may speak about it. What impact have these skills had on your life and personality. Your post-MBA goals require more clarity; I'd like to better understand them before recommending schools to you. You may, however, check into the best one-year MBA programs in the US here,you will get some insights. If you're looking for Executive full-time MBA programs, LBS Sloan, Stanford MSx, MIT Sloan Fellows, and USC Ibear can be some great options. With a duration of about one year. You may have a detailed look into these programs here.
