Hi
I am an Indian MBA aspirant. I just graduated last month from NIT Jalandhar in India. I am looking to apply to M7 colleges down the line, a few years from now. According to you what steps I should take to increase my chances to get admitted.
My main concern is my low GPA. I scored 8.2/10, though I am in the top 10% of my class.

My GMAT score is 710 but I will probably attempt it again to improve my score.

Currently, I am working for Ernst & Young and will probably move around to other Big 4 or MBB before applying to M7.

Note: I applied for early admission to some of these colleges, early this year and am not sure whether this will have an impact on my admission down the line.

Any advice from the community would be appreciated.

Thank You

Hello mbahunter1299,

Your GPA is not low, especially because you are also among the top 10% of your class.

Besides working on improving your GMAT score, you must also work on garnering leadership experience along the way. When we speak of leadership, try looking for experiences that help bring out your managerial skills, both at work and beyond. You could also look at acquiring some pro-bono consulting experience(for example: if someone you know owns a start-up, see if you would like to associate with them for some practical experience). Further, you could also look at exploring certifications that interest you. While these may not be deal makers as such, they would help add some fine talking points.

Good luck!
