Hi
I am an Indian MBA aspirant. I just graduated last month from NIT Jalandhar in India. I am looking to apply to M7 colleges down the line, a few years from now. According to you what steps I should take to increase my chances to get admitted.
My main concern is my low GPA. I scored 8.2/10, though I am in the top 10% of my class.
My GMAT score is 710 but I will probably attempt it again to improve my score.
Currently, I am working for Ernst & Young and will probably move around to other Big 4 or MBB before applying to M7.
Note: I applied for early admission to some of these colleges, early this year and am not sure whether this will have an impact on my admission down the line.
Any advice from the community would be appreciated.
Thank You
Greeting,
I am an ISB Alum, CO15, and have been assisting applicants to get into global business schools since then.
Your GMAT score is great and hopefully, you will score better in your next attempt. Many aspects contribute to a strong application. M7 schools do not just look at your GPA or GMAT Score but also at your leadership skills, achievements, and extracurricular activities. If you are planning to apply to these schools in a few years, I suggest you work on building your profile. Take up leadership responsibilities and try leading various projects in your work. Focus on the results that you are generating during this time. Also, work on some extracurricular activities outside of work, and pick up some hobbies. Don't worry about your GPA, rather work towards making a well-rounded application.
Goodluck!
