MBA2024_Hopeful, a few thoughts on your profile evaluation and plans:
  1. The academic arc is solid given the college pedigree, GPA and a stellar GMAT. While the Q is low, I wouldn't break my head too much over it frankly. Not something that'll be of concern and one less thing for you to worry about.
  2. The professional profile looks good due to the association with Deloitte brand and the move out of risk which tends to be underrepresented at top schools. What will be important to consider is if your particular team/department has been a past feeder to your target programs - precedence helps a lot and otherwise, the top league programs in your current target set can do with some moderation potentially.
  3. Extracurricular and volunteer efforts sound alright though not sure as to the scale/impact which is eventually what matters. Your long-term pitch will also depend on this to quite an extent.

Overall, you should sprint from here as there is barely time left to the deadlines - do what best can be managed.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out to partner with us on your application journey.

Cheers,

Thank you! Any schools that I listed look more realistic than others? And potential for scholarship $$?

MBA2024_Hopeful
Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to post my profile here to get some realistic feedback for my chances at the following schools (I am applying R2 this year) as well as whether I would likely receive any scholarship money**:

Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Chicago Booth, Berkeley Haas, and Columbia.

Demographics:
Male, 26 years old, born in Indian but lived in Canada for 20 years, so I consider myself more Canadian than Indian (I'm a Canadian citizen).

Education:
Industrial Engineering Honours Graduate from the University of Toronto, with a Minor in Engineering Business
3.67 cGPA
760 GMAT (Q47, V47)

Work Experience:
3+ years of experience in Deloitte Consulting in Canada (Business Analyst -> Consultant & likely another promotion to Senior Consultant before matriculation)
1 year of experience in Deloitte Risk Advisory (Analyst)

Highlighted ECs:
Content creator / hockey sports writer and curator
Volunteer at an animal shelter
Social Enterprise & Impact Investment Fellowship

"Why MBA?":
Immediate post-MBA goal is to transition out of technology (Workday) consulting into management consulting (MBB).
Long term goal is to taken on a leadership position at a non-profit, or transition into social impact consulting. Really want to do something that is purpose-driven, where my motivation is helping others and the community.

Recommendations:
2 managers from my current team, both of whom I have a great relationship with.

Essays:
Not yet completed, but I would say I have decent writing skills when I put my mind to it.

Please let me know if you require any additional information to evaluate my profile. Thank you in advance!

Hello MBA2024_Hopeful,

You have a strong case in hand (obviously dependent on the quality of essays you put forth).

You are targetting the best schools in the world with a very low acceptance rates; hence, while you broadly have what it takes, chances of admit and scholarship will purely be based on speculation and not facts.

Our suggestion will be to focus on applying to all the schools (with the addition of a couple of schools in the US top ~15 bracket) while putting your best foot forward.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!
