Hi everyone,
I'm gearing up for my GMAT, with the first of my three scheduled attempts happening tomorrow. The subsequent ones are on the 6th and 31st of January. I'm taking the GMAT Classic and my target program is Stanford MSx program for a 2025 start. Although there are other programs like the MIT Sloan Fellows that are comparable, I haven’t given much thought to other programs and my current focus is solely on the GMAT.
My dilemma revolves around managing my scores. The median score for Stanford MSx is 730 (Avg 725), and my last mock attempt fetched me a 700. Originally, I planned to accept any score above 680. However, I'm now contemplating whether to cancel any score below 700. Lets say I was to hit a 720 by the time I get to my last attempt, my concern is about the perception of my score trajectory – would multiple attempts with varying scores (e.g., starting with 680 and then achieving 720) reflect inconsistency?
I was thinking, the best strategy for me would be accept any scores above 700, and reject anything below that. Then when I get to my last attempt, if I beat the first two, I take that, if I don’t, I cancel the third one, and then re-instate the best of 3. I would like to know if this is feasible and allowed? Specifically, can I reinstate an older score, if I have another cancelled attempt later?
I would greatly appreciate your insights and suggestions on this strategy (I am aware there would costs for reinstatement). What would you recommend in this situation?
Also, I wonder, if I was to not choose a school at this stage, I can do so at any time later, with the $35/school fee?
Finally, if I was to choose a school, do I just need to know the school names, or specific program codes?
Looking forward to your valuable advice.
Best regards,
