quianihil,

ISB takes in a very diverse cohort. The precedence helps a lot.

Check on the ECs/volunteer effort blog. On your venture, look for shared brand associations/tieups.

Feel free to reach out on [email protected] for more discussion and help on your applications.

Cheers,
quianihil
Hi Manish,

Thanks for the Evaluation.
I do plan on scaling my food truck in the future. it has just been a year since I started and I am already working on it.
My Manager was from ISB but he has a classic pedigree profile. He is the one that suggested I should apply for ISB.
Any more suggestions on how I can make my profile ISB-worthy?

quianihil,

Hey! First off, your profile has a lot of heart — and that really matters for ISB. From working full-time during college to juggling Amazon and entrepreneurship, it’s clear you’re someone who takes initiative and doesn’t shy away from responsibility. That’ll definitely resonate in your essays if framed well.

Your academics are decent overall — strong 10th/12th scores, and while the undergrad CGPA is on the lower side, the context (Tier-3 + scholarship) + what you did alongside it helps balance it out. Just make sure to briefly explain the reason for the lower GPA in the interview if it comes up.

ISB does value diversity, and your mix of corporate + entrepreneurial experience, paired with solid extracurriculars (classical arts always add richness!), gives you a well-rounded edge.
If I were in your shoes, I’d target a 655+ GMAT FE to stay competitive, especially in R2, where the bar can be slightly higher.

Also, don’t underplay your journey — showing resilience, grit, and self-made progress can be very compelling if told authentically.

You’ve got the raw material for a strong app. Now it’s about packaging your story right. All the best — rooting for you!

quianihil - interesting profile overall, given the acads/ GPA (though the school doesn't seem to be a feeder?), work-ex (MAANG brand, business/ strategy exposure, promotions and entrepreneurial stint) and balanced extracurriculars.

ISB's GMAT average was 675-685 last year, so aiming for this score (or ideally 10-20+ higher) would be ideal.

What are your directional career goals post MBA? Apart from a good score, make sure to have a robust narrative covering your experiences, transferable skills, career goals and how/ why ISB would help achieve them. This article can provide some insights on ISB's latest essays.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out here for a deeper chat, and all the best!

Hi quianihil,

Your profile is well-rounded with strong leadership, resilience, and entrepreneurial initiative. Academically, while your undergrad GPA from a Tier-3 college is modest, your 10th and 12th scores are excellent and your scholarship decision reflects grit. Professionally, 2.5 years at Amazon with progression from operations to compliance, plus mentoring and leadership exposure, gives you strong corporate credentials. Adding entrepreneurship with your food truck venture shows ownership, risk-taking, and the ability to drive results independently. Your cultural depth through classical dance, music, and painting further differentiates you.

For ISB PGP R2, you should aim for a 645+ score to strengthen your application, offset your undergrad academic scores and demonstrate academic readiness.

Highlighting your leadership, professional achievements/tangible impact, relevant skills, career goals, unique experiences, and fit with the program effectively will be crucial in crafting a compelling application.

Hi quianihil,

Thanks for sharing your background. Could you let us know when you are planning to take the GMAT? For ISB PGP, a competitive range on the GMAT Focus Edition starts around 645+, and 655+ would be a safer target, especially for Round 2.

Best Wishes!
